almost done with summer sessions

Next Thursday is the final for my Summer II class. It's in Operations Management. I took Financial Managment for the first summer session. That was a hard class but I made it through. Summer classes are more intense because you have to cover the same amount of material in half the time. It's tough but well worth it.

Tonight was a long class night. My teacher talks way too much. Teachers tend to love to hear themselves speak. Plus, there's always at least one student in each class that encourages the teacher to speak more than necessary.Tonight, alll my teacher needed was just the slightest amount of encouragement to know it's okay to tell that story about the time he was in 3rd grade and still afraid of the dark but did not want anyone to know.....

The last class was so bizarre. The kid that sat next to me sucked his thumb in class ALL THE TIME. when he was not sucking his thumb, he was asking a gazillion questions ALL THE TIME. It got so bad that the teacher would just tell him to save his questions for the break. It's not like the kid was slow or didn't understand the material. He was just a busy body. He was always tryng to compare everything with China.

One night, he had to do a presentation. During his oral presentation, he checked his text messages from his cell phone at least 3 times. Afterwards, the professor told him "in the future, ignore your messages while giving a presentation." He replied, "but this girl is mad at me....!" Then, he ran out of the classroom. He came back with a smile on his face. That kid was so disruptive.

Hello

It's been a long time I know. I have had a lot going on these days. It took me a while to remember my password. I finally found a new job. I've been looking off and on for about 6 months. I learned quite a bit about the art of job hunting during those 6 months. I've gained a lot of self-confidence out of this whole job search experience.

It's going to be hard to adjust to the new job and people. I wish I could fast forward 3 months so that I can skip the learning and getting to know people part.

Today was my first day and it went fairly well. I had orientation until 3pm and then met with my co-workers afterwards. That was weird. There were just too many awkward moments.

One thing I can say about Tech Data so far, they are really serious about the campus security. I learned that white-out was highly flammable. they have to dial 911 for me if I'm injured onsite. They have a special group of people trained on how to handle bodily fluids if necessary. they can ask me to go take a drug test if at anytime they become suspicious of me. If I was not so exhausted, I would find this whole thing hilarious.
