almost done with summer sessions
Next Thursday is the final for my Summer II class. It's in Operations Management. I took Financial Managment for the first summer session. That was a hard class but I made it through. Summer classes are more intense because you have to cover the same amount of material in half the time. It's tough but well worth it.Tonight was a long class night. My teacher talks way too much. Teachers tend to love to hear themselves speak. Plus, there's always at least one student in each class that encourages the teacher to speak more than necessary.Tonight, alll my teacher needed was just the slightest amount of encouragement to know it's okay to tell that story about the time he was in 3rd grade and still afraid of the dark but did not want anyone to know.....
The last class was so bizarre. The kid that sat next to me sucked his thumb in class ALL THE TIME. when he was not sucking his thumb, he was asking a gazillion questions ALL THE TIME. It got so bad that the teacher would just tell him to save his questions for the break. It's not like the kid was slow or didn't understand the material. He was just a busy body. He was always tryng to compare everything with China.
One night, he had to do a presentation. During his oral presentation, he checked his text messages from his cell phone at least 3 times. Afterwards, the professor told him "in the future, ignore your messages while giving a presentation." He replied, "but this girl is mad at me....!" Then, he ran out of the classroom. He came back with a smile on his face. That kid was so disruptive.

I always thought that kids just naturally quit doing baby stuff when they go to school like wetting pants, crying, and thumb sucking. And you have a guy in a college class who is both crying and thumb sucking. Wow! That must be some classroom experience. No wonder you are glad to have that class behind you. Nice to hear from you again.
Go Cheryl! Final exam! w00t!
Hope reading all the comments doesn't take time away from your study! Guess juveniles like the one you describe are entertaining if they're not too maddening. Speaking of which, I once taught a class in which there was a guy who was psychotic. Keep jumping over the hurdles. You go girl!
